The Innovation Compact turntable with its very efficient design is nothing less than an audiophile revelation. Thanks to optical speed control (OSC), speed stability values are obtained that lift this turntable into the global highend class.
The Innovation Compact delivers the key technical features of the classic Innovation turntable, but in a more compact construction and at a lower price.
The Innovation Compact is just under half the weight of the Innovation, due to a simpler chassis construction. While the Innovation features two layers of a complex „sandwich” of resonance damping materials, the Compact employs a single sandwich and excludes the Innovation”s 15mm-thick stainless steel subplatter. A main chassis comprising a complex sandwich of materials: aluminium – panzerholzbullet-proof wood – aluminium, to minimise resonance. A high-torque DC motor integrated within, and effectively decoupled by, the main chassis. Precision-machined 70mm-thickacrylic platter.
Clearaudio”s patented ceramic magnetic bearing (CMB), providing a virtually friction-free environment in which the platter”s weight is supported by the mutual repulsion of two rings of opposing magnets mounted on the chassis and on the lower platter. The non-magnetic ceramic shaft means that no magnetic effects can reach the surface of the platter.
Clearaudio”s Optical Speed Control (OSC) technology. Beneath the platter hides a stroboscope ring microscopically etched with more than 1,500 bars. An infrared sensor constantly scans this ring and if the speed of rotation is not 100% correct, an OSC unit adjusts it accordingly, resulting in an outstanding level of speed stability.
The drive system is operated by four blue illuminated buttons, ergonomically integrated into the chassis.
The Innovation Compact can accommodate up to two tonearms, allowing for flexibility of tonearm and cartridge.
